Samshield Clothing Size Guide
Samshield clothing is cut in a European style — tailored and close-fitting, designed for a polished line in the ring. This guide covers breeches, show jackets, show shirts and outerwear, with conversions and fit advice for each.

How to Measure
Measure over the underwear you would wear beneath the garment, keeping the tape level and comfortably snug. Take measurements in centimetres.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the navel.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, with your feet together.
Inside leg
For breeches, measure from the top of your inner thigh down to your ankle bone.
Size Charts
Samshield use two sizing systems: numbered sizes for breeches and show jackets, and lettered sizes (XS–XL) for shirts and outerwear.
Breeches & Show Jackets (Numbered Sizes)
Breeches and show jackets are sized by the Continental number, shown on our product pages with the UK size alongside (for example EU 38 – UK 10).

Conversions cross-checked against multiple international size charts and our own Samshield product labelling. Continental and Italian labels differ — always go by your body measurements where possible.
Show jackets are cut close over the shoulder and chest. If you ride in a base layer or show shirt underneath, allow room for it — and if you are unsure across the shoulders, contact us before ordering.
Show Shirts & Outerwear (XS–XL)
Shirts, base layers, fleeces, jackets and coats use letter sizes. As a rough guide these map to numbered sizes as follows:

How Samshield Clothing Should Fit
Samshield is designed for a tailored, close-contact fit — but it should never feel restrictive.
A good fit
- Close through the body with a clean line
- A mild, held-in compression — this is intended
- Full movement in the shoulder and seat
- Breeches sit firmly at the waist without digging
Size down if
- The fabric strains across the thigh or hip
- The waistband digs in or pinches
- A jacket pulls across the shoulders when fastened
- You prefer a relaxed rather than fitted cut
